Workshops. All Teacher Development Workshops will be taught both online and in person. While attending the institute in person is always preferable, we acknowledge that this hybrid offering is a way to help more teachers to take advantage of training. We welcome both online and in person participants and look forward to helping you begin your Suzuki journey.
Event DescriptionEvery Child Can! an introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program. To learn more, read about the ECC course and its guidelines.

Trainer Information
Cellist ELIZABETH CANTRELL teaches children and adults at Suzuki Institutes and workshops throughout the US and in Europe. Dr. Beth is a registered teacher trainer and a member of the SAA Cello Committee. She served on the SAA Board from 2016—2021. Her cello studio is at Crozet Arts, where she is Artist-in-Residence.
Besides teaching, Dr. Beth has performed with many groups in central Virginia, including the Afton String Quartet, the Richmond Symphony, and as principal cello in the award-winning Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra.
Prior to moving to Virginia with her family in 2001, she was principal cellist for the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra, on the faculty of Kennesaw State University, and active in the Atlanta area as a teacher, chamber and orchestral performer, adjudicator, and recording studio musician.
She trained with Gilda Barston, Tanya Carey, and Marilyn Kesler.
