- Course meets 1-5 PM CDT on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14
- Early check-in available Saturday by advance arrangement
- Required TWP orientation meeting: Sunday 6:15 PM
- Additional live events at ASI include teacher/parent lectures, student recitals, and guest artist/faculty concerts. Not all of these events will be live streamed for online participants
- Festival concerts occur throughout the day on Friday, concluding in the evening
- Residence Hall checkout by Saturday 12 PM
Event DescriptionEvery Child Can! an introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program. To learn more, read about the ECC course and its guidelines.
- This course will be offered both in-person and online
- Visit the American Suzuki Institute website for course prerequisites and requirements
- $25 tuition rebate will be given to teachers to sign up for ECC! and Unit 1
- $25 tuition rebate will be given to teachers who sign up for a Unit or Supplemental course and a 10-hour Enrichment course in the same week
- $40 tuition rebate will be given to teachers who sign up for two Suzuki core units (SECE, Practicum, Enrichment, and Supplemental courses not included)
Special American Suzuki Foundation Rebate! The American Suzuki Foundation is offering a number of $500 rebates for in-person training to offset the cost of room and board. Contact the ASI office at [javascript protected email address] by May 1. Include the following information:
- The unit you wish to study (preference given to Unit 1 participants)
- Why you want to attend ASI in person this summer

Trainer Information
Patricia D’Ercole is a Suzuki violin teacher and teacher trainer. She did long-term training with Margery Aber and studied with Dr. Suzuki. She has been a clinician in 23 states and 7 foreign countries. Pat has written numerous articles for the ASJ, was chair of the SAA Board of Directors, and a member of the Every Child Can! and Suzuki Principles in Action Committees. She was the founding president of the Suzuki Association of Wisconsin and has been co-coordinator for the International Research Symposium on Talent Education since 1995. Through her leadership, a collection of videos which chronicles Dr. Suzuki’s teaching at the American Suzuki Institute in 1976, is now preserved on the web. Pat created the UWSP Suzuki Strings Mentoring Program, a year-long online practicum for Suzuki teachers. Most recently, Pat is the Director Emerita of the Aber Suzuki Center at the UW-Stevens Point.
